List of Community Agencies (excel file)

Do you know the difference between service learning and community service?  If not, one of the major differences is that in service learning girls begin to learn about the problem they have chosen to work on, they build skills in the topic, and then plan how they would like to help.  A great way for your Girl Scout troop to work on the first two steps in the process is to work on Girl Scout badges related to their topic.

Whether your troop is a Daisy Girl Scout troop or all seniors in high school there are badge links they can complete while learning about the project they chose for their council wide community service project.  Check out the following badges to see how they can help your troop learn more about and prepare for their project - caring for homeless people or animals.
